Digital Copywriting

I draw inspiration from the vast array of channels through which words can reach diverse audiences. The world we live in is dynamic. Modern copywriting reflects this age of innovation by incorporating data, interactive design, video, and more.

Click the image to your right. I crafted messaging for an enterprise-wide marketing campaign called Seek & Prosper, which united the offerings of S&P Global Inc under a cohesive system. Not only did this award-winning architecture push the boundaries of a brand previously known mostly as the S&P 500, but typical Seek & Prosper campaigns also yielded 1,800+ marketing-qualified leads and $3.9 million in pipeline.

Most exciting for me as a content creator was the way in which my team had the freedom to explore and embrace a connected ecosystem of digital media.

I am a video champion. With good reason. Video viewers retain 95% of a message, compared to just 10% retention when read as text. When it comes to SEO, videos keep viewers on a page longer and boost engagement.

On a personal note, as a writer who believes in getting to the heart of a matter in a quick, snappy approach, video scripts are my favorite way to tell a story.

I’ve spearheaded video content that drove viewer engagement to more than 75%. I’ve collaborated with production on storyboards and created strategies to drive views, clicks, and action. We won an award for this animated series for Best Use of Video in Marketing from the Specialized Information Publishers Association of SIIA.

When used effectively, blogs can become an SEO magnet of relevant information that not only attracts the eyes of Google, but also helps your customers and partners solve problems.

Take this post, for example. At an energy price reporting agency, I created a primer-style series that broke down the fundamentals of oil markets with simple language and helpful graphics. Always a top performer in this company’s blog library, my original post has been re-skinned on repeat.

At a federal energy policy nonprofit seeking to quickly reinvigorate its content strategy, I boosted web traffic 65% over a quarter by researching topics that were already resonating, enhancing existing content, adding video, and resubmitting pages to Google. Strategic effort goes into making a podcast sound natural and improvisational. I conceived, hosted, produced, and marketed a monthly podcast with practical, engaging perspectives on energy topics, resulting in 20,000+ unique downloads. The key to this success was making my guests feel comfortable in their conversations. I created roadmap scripts to facilitate dialogue flow while maintaining content focus. The result: we made fuel fun.

Print & Digital Content

From social media content to event signage. From web content to print brochures. I collaborate and strategize with business leads to create cohesive messaging that drives growth.

I firmly believe that content should have a lifecycle, which can be prolonged by repurposing. I create long-form content as foundational material, then repurpose assets as shorter-form, snackable social posts, videos, and blogs.
